How should KOGENATE® Bayer be administered as continuous infusion during major surgery?

Raise FVIII activity pre-surgery with an initial bolus infusion and immediately follow with continuous infusion (in IU/Kg/h)adjusting according to patient’s daily clearance and desired FVIII levels for at least seven days. 22

What equipment was used to infuse the KOGENATE® Bayer?

The low concentration factor was administered with the WalkMed® 350 ambulatory infusion pump and the high concentration factor was administered with the CADD PLUS pump. 19

How should KOGENATE® Bayer be prepared for continuous infusion?

KOGENATE® Bayer must be prepared under aseptic conditions. Under these conditions, in-use stability has been demonstrated for 48 hours. 22

How much KOGENATE® Bayer was infused during the study?

Mean total KOGENATE® Bayer infused into patients was 29,544 +/– 6,387 IU (range 19,350 – 42,240). 22
