Summary of Product Characteristics Prescribing Information Patient Information LeafletThe Terumo® Safety Butterfly has been carefully designed to enable patients to administer KOGENATE® Bayer easily and safely.
Step 1
Flip the safety shield back away from the needle toward the tubing. With your thumb and index finger grasp the wings together. Remove the needle protective shield and infuse KOGENATEŽ Bayer in the usual manner
Step 2
After the infusion is complete, and before removing the needle, flip the safety shield forward over the needle. Grasp the wing with your thumb on top of the shield and your index finger under the wing. Completely remove the needle and apply pressure to the site
Step 3
Hold the wing and shield between your thumb and index finger. Press the safety shield against a hard surface such as a bedside table until you hear an audible click
Step 4
Double-check that the safety shield is locked in place then dispose of the needle in an approved sharps disposal container
